What To Watch: Fall 2016

There are so many streams.

This is list of shows I have or might try … just based on an initial watching or their descriptions. Not in any particular order.

Goliath – Amazon

Three words: Billy Bob Thornton. Can be viewed on Amazon Prime from October 14. (( Search ))

Insecure – HBO

When I first read about it . . I thought no way. But then I watched episode one (an advance release) and it was funny and different. I am on board because the show touches on conversations not readily explored on television and taps into the uncertainty that suddenly hits you when 29 sneaks up out of nowhere, 30 is around the corner, and you realize this sh*t is real. (( Search ))

Easy – Netflix

Has a 91 percent positive Rotten Tomatoes score — but last time I looked it still haven’t been certified fresh because there aren’t enough reviews associated with them yet to earn that designation. (( Search ))

High Maintenance – HBO

After the first episode I almost didn’t go back. But with episode two the subplots started to weave together rather creatively… And has made my list of shows to watch. Surprise: HBO Renews Pot Comedy ‘High Maintenance’ for Season 2 • (( Search ))

Quarry – Cinemax

So far, after three episodes, my favorite show of the year. A Marine returns to his Memphis home from the Vietnam War in 1972 to find his old life gone and his service unappreciated. (( Search ))

Westworld – HBO

Inspired by the 1973 movie. So it’s about a futuristic theme park populated by artificial beings. I am leery. (( Search ))

Crisis in Six Scenes – Amazon

I don’t have high hopes but hey it’s Woody Allen!! Mr Allen has made approximately 500 films, but has never written anything for TV before now, which is reason enough to check it out. (( Search ))

Fleabag – Amazon

From the U.K. I watched the first episode… wasn’t my kind of humor … but most folks are raving… So I will go back. Maybe I will get hip. (( Search ))

Berlin Station – Epic

Ah, another espionage thriller. This genre always gets me. I am declaring this as an undiscovered/unnoticed gem. (( Search ))

Atlanta – FX

I watched the first episode … it barely got my attention. So will probably/maybe go back for more. (( Search ))

Just watched episode 7 “Chemistry Road” of the Netflix series EASY–

I get it, but I don’t care about these people.

Atlanta: It’s like the “Roseanne” version of “Blackish”—-Does the black or white audience want to watch the Bill Cosby version of black America or the closer to the truth version?

“Atlanta” as a social setting– reminds me of the Freaks and Geeks version of High School.

Berlin Station: Early indication not positive. Too early? Possible.

Three new shows on broadcast TV that I am beginning to loose interest in:
The Good Place, This is Us, and Pitch.

On Netflix: I’m sorry, but Longmire is a damn solid show, that I guess is going to be around for a couple more seasons.

And catching up on the Walking Dead and it’s still compelling.
