Song Of The Day: ‘Mr. Soul’

by Norm Gregory on November 8, 2014

in 1967, KPUG, Radio Scrapbook, Song Of The Day

This is the song that caught my ear in 1967 and made me a life long fan of Neil Young. I was doing the music at KPUG, Bellingham, at time and I had Mr Soul sky-rocketing up the station’s Fun Fifty. This was a couple years before I realized how to correctly and objectively do a chart.

Norm… GREAT MEM’s!!!

BTW, I followed you at KPUG/Bellingham four years later as PD and did afternoon drive. As I recall Jim Tinker was the GM back then.

Yep, Tinker was in the front office.

Dick Stark (who seemed to voice all his commercials) and Dave Hall in the sales office.

It was a fun 9 months for me.
