Winds blowing smoke from raging wildfires in North Central Washington made for a hazy weekend in Seattle and the rest of the Puget Sound area, but the phenomenon was expected to be mostly gone by Monday morning, according to a National Weather Service meteorologist.

“We started yesterday with an easterly flow,” Seattle-based meteorologist Kirby Cook said Sunday. “Yesterday and last night that filled up the area with smoke. But today the flow has been pretty light, and now we’re transitioning into a pattern where the winds are going to be out of the west.”
