This Marty Loken radio column appeared in the Seattle Times in 1964 . . . Loken was doing occasional radio columns before Vic Stredicke at the Times. (The Times never actually paid anybody to cover radio . . . the radio columns were done as a hobby . . . a labor of love . . if you will. I think Stredicke’s main job was editing the cartoon page.) Loken’s main job, as I recall, was covering the radical politics which was erupting on the streets of the ’60s.
