in 1976, KZOK, Radio Scrapbook

I have been digging through my collection of photos, news clippings and other documents from my 35 years in radio.

This is a picture of me with Tommy Shaw of Styx taken at KZOK in . . . I would guess . . . 1976. A little Google research shows that Styx only played Seattle once during the ’70s: Paramount theater in March 1976. This was a couple years after they had their first top ten hit “Lady” (winter 1974). They were more than a year away from their next top ten, “Come Sail Away” (fall 1977). To date the Chicago band has had eight top ten hits. And one number one, “Babe,” in the fall of 1979.
