Norm Gregory Radio Scrapbook: O’Day & Associates 1967

in 1967, KJR, Radio Scrapbook

Several KJR disc jockeys, in the very early ’60s, were involved in local dance businesses. If you listen to “Jockey” John Stone in 1960 it was obvious there where no limits on how much time an on-air guy could spend promoting his outside endeavors. Pat O’Day took advantage of this environment and slowing built quite the concert and dance empire. Eventually it become Concerts West. Along the way some competitors thought O’Day’s position on the radio gave him an unfair advantage.
