Norm Gregory Radio Scrapbook: Nick Anthony Leaves KJR, 1970

by Norm Gregory on October 17, 2011

in 1970, 1974, KJR

I really don’t know much about Nick Anthony. He had two stints at KJR. Below is Vic Stredicke, in the Seattle Times, reporting on Nick’s 1970 departure. Three and half years later he was back as assistant manager and program director. Speculation was that he was being groomed to take Pat O’Day’s place as GM. for sure his new postion was not good news for my future at the station. I was gone come July 1974. Which, in hindsight, was good thing for me. Since I didn’t understand the direction KJR was going. And I got in on the ground floor at the emerging FM powerhouse KZOK, eventually becoming program director at 102.5 FM. Nick didn’t last much longer . . . but I wasn’t paying attention anymore.

The Doxie scanner was used to create this digital copy of a musty clipping.
