Norm Gregory Radio Scrapbook: KOMO 1988 Remote Broadcast

in 1988, KOMO, Radio Scrapbook

I must have done a gzillion remote broadcasts during my ten years at KOMO AM-1000, Seattle. The station was really into community events. If you had a lemonade stand we’d probably be there. Here we are at the Puyallup’s Western Washington Fair. It’s actually a Husky Tail Gate Party for an away University of Washington football game. Unfortunately we can’t hear what is going on on-air. Before each Husky game KOMO put on quite a show, usually with Larry Nelson, with many bits and skits created by production ace Eric McKaig and staff. This video, done with my cam-corder, is sort of a behind scenes look during this fall of 1988 broadcast.

What is going on here? I have been digging through My Collection of photos, news clippings and other documents from my 35 years in radio. The Collection can be sorted:

By radio station: KPUG • KJRB • KJR • KZOK • KQFM • KOMO • KJR-FM

By year: 1961 • 1963 • 1967 • 1968 • 1969 • 1970 • 1971 • 1972
1973 • 1974 • 1975 • 1976 • 1977 • 1978 • 1979 • 1980 • 1981 • 1994
