Norm Gregory Radio Scrapbook: KJR’s 1963 Music Policy

I have been digging through my collection of photos, news clippings and other documents from my 35 years in radio.

This brief paragraph discussing KJR’s approach to new music and music day-parting appeared in the May 18, 1963 Billboard magazine. As I recall heavy day-parting was used. The station during the “house wife” mid-day hours sounded very different from the afternoon and evening hours when sound was a lot “rockier.”

The Doxie scanner used to create this digital copy of a musty clipping.
