Norm Gregory Radio Scrapbook: KJR Radio Adapter, 1968

This jock photo has been floating around for years. This where it came from. I know little of the ‘Radio Adaptor’ promotion. I do know the date is some time in September and November 1968. I deduce this from the fact the Charlie Brown is in the photo and Pat O’Day is not. The time frame for Charlie’s first stint at KJR was February to November, 1968. After eight months of doing 9 p.m. to Midnight at KJR Charlie went back to KJRB, Spokane to do mornings. And Pat left his afternoon shift, after 7 years, to move to the general manager’s office in September ’68 and Tom Murphy moved to 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Who took Tom’s former 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. shift? I showed up in February 1969. They must extended shifts for three or four months.

Radio was fun in those days. Don’t know if I mentioned that I was at Eastern with Crow and Charlie and Maynard had the campus radio morning slot. Funniest radio ever!
