Saint Patrick’s Day was always an excuse and/or reason to party with your listeners. Several remote broadcasts come to mind. I wish I have a few photos of the green beer being consumed at 8 a.m. in 1982 when most of the KJR staff showed up at a bar near the Seattle Center for Gary Lockwood’s morning show on St Paddy’s Day. I forget which bar the top photo, below, was taken in 1995 for a KJR-FM broadcast. One of my best St Patricks Day ideas came in 1997 when we sent out the KJR-FM Leprechauns to visit various lounges, restaurants and bars around town to hand out Irish gold (chocolate candy wrapped in gold foil). The folks, in the bottom photo, had their own costumes and were ready to party.
