Norm Gregory Radio Scrapbook: KJR-FM October 1998 (Audio)

After ten years at KOMO AM-1000, in 1994 I stepped up my air work to get back to a higher tempo Top 40 approach at KJR-FM. I was program director from July 1994 to September 1997 (*). When management decided to move away from the “The Greatest Hits of The ’70s” my lack of passion for the idea was very evident. Here I am a year later doing the afternoon shift. I worked afternoons in Seattle radio for 24 years between 1971 (KJR) to 2000 (KJR-FM). Honestly, I was just a journeyman jock . . . who could work just about any format.

(*) I mention that so you know I am not responsible for the promotions and other programming features heard on this aircheck.

What is going on here? I have been digging through My Collection of photos, news clippings and other documents from my 35 years in radio. The daily postings began on May 19, 2011. The Collection can be sorted:

By year: 1961 • 1963 • 1967 • 1968 • 1969 • 1970 • 1971 • 1972

And I’m so happy that KNUA doesn’t show up on your resume……
