I returned to KJR in the fall of 1981. First in a mid-day shift and then back to afternoons in a nearly two year stay. Afternoons (audio below) were much fun with the interaction with news ace Gregg Hersholt and legendary traffic reporter Debbie Deutsch. Hersholt and Deutsch were major players in the revolution of news and information presentation that took place in the 1970s. I believe both of them set standards which are responsible for much of the one-to-one, conversational style, that we take for granted today in radio traffic and news reporting.

So nice to hear those names from the past (Debbie Deutsch; Greg Hershel; Keith Graham…) Wish the songs, ads, and news breaks were intact; it would be like a vacation to my youth!

Thanks, Norm. Miss the golden era of Seattle music radio. Love that classic mic presence!

If I left in all the spots and news…. the post would be 5 times longer…. I did would I could to include in a taste of the news and Ted Potter in the KOMO air-patrol. Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. I look back on those days with much fondness.
