My Home Cinema

April 2013

January 2012

Early in 2012 I ditched my Sony 36″ HD television to create my own modest. simple, home theater set up.

The projector, which receives HDMI signals for my Apple TV, Roku, Comcast cable box, Blu-Ray player, etc) and big fold out screen (a modern version of what the A/V Squad in school used). It’s best move I ever made. Bright big (up to 1080p) pictures on an 80″ screen. And it’s got 3D too – I only used it once to check it out – I am not a big fan . . . yet.

Mr. Norm . . .What is “modest” if I may ask ? . . .and possibly where did you purchase it from ?

Best in 2013 !

Modest, in that, I don’t have a home theater room solely dictated to watching big screen video with a big sound system/speakers, big overstuffed leather theater chairs, with a popcorn machine in back, etc, etc.

The two Amazon boxes above are directly linked to where/what I bought.

This set up, I might mention, has cut by trips to the local cinemas in half over the last year. Not only because I have the 80″ screen but also the improvement in the movie/TV selections in the iTunes store, Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming, etc. Because I am a hard core movie fan . . I take the time to seek out esoteric content.
