‘Duke Of Earl’

I just listen to this three times…. I know this will sound crazy but the scratches take me back to the days of spinning 45 RPM single days.

Duke of Earl was an early 1962 U.S. number-one song, by Gene Chandler. Easily the best known of Chandler’s songs. It was on the Hot 100 for a total of 15 weeks.

A little bit of trivia for you record fans. A year and half later a couple Beatles songs show up in the U.S.on VeeJay records. Capitol Records hadn’t yet had a clue . . So EMI licensed Love Me Do, From Me To You, She Love Me to independent labels in America.
