Roosevelt High Boy’s Basketball

I think the last time I attended a Roosevelt High basketball game James Edwards was playing. The time before that I was playing. So it’s been a while. Last night I was at the Roosevelt vs Skyline game. The Roughriders, despite a 4th quarter comeback, lost 48-43. Still a low scoring game despite the introduction of the 35-second shot clock for the first time in boy’s basketball. The crowd and spirit was sparse. Thanks to Heidi and Aiden for the invite/idea.

Senior, Cory Hutsen, number 14, who hit the 3-pointer at end of the video is Skyline’s center. He looked to be quite a well rounded player. Doing it inside and outside.

Our high school (Mt. Rainier) played James Edwards’ Roosevelt team in (I think) ’71, in a state semi-final game. We lost in (again, memory serving) 4 overtimes.
