in Anna Kendrick

I am going to keep an eye on Anna Kendrick. She is sort of our Carey Mulligan. Dynamite in Up In The Air (her first “adult role”) and getting big exposure in two (soon to be three) Twilight pictures. I first spotted her in Rocket Science a largely over looked but very good 2007 film. Out here in the far west we know little about what goes on back on Broadway so we missed the news that 24 year old Kendrick was nominated for a Tony Award (second youngest ever), a Drama Desk Award and Fany Award (best actress featured in a musical) for her performance where she originated the role of Dinah in High Society on The Great White Way.

So I open my Anna Kendrick catagory . . .

Anna Kendrick still ‘Air’ borne

Young ‘Twilight’ actress actually a longtime veteran

Anna Kendrick wanted to be Natalie right away.

“There aren’t many roles written for young women like this,” says Kendrick of her “Up in the Air” persona — an exec hired to fire employees at companies that are downsizing. “She’s strong, complex and gets to be a powerful part of the story without ever being a love interest. I thought at some point I would turn a page and the story would move on without her, but that never happened.” ● More from: Anna Kendrick still ‘Air’ borne – Entertainment News, Eye on the Oscars: The Actress, Media – Variety
