My Movie Review: ‘The Informant!’

in Movies,The Informant!

If you didn’t know it before Matt Damon proves it here . . . he is a pretty good actor. Ten minutes in to the film and I wasn’t noticing it was him playing a guy with a very fertile imagination. It is hard to categorize The Informant! A comedy? Kinda. A caper plot? The ’70s style who-done-it music might be a clue. I must say director Steven Soderbergh was quite generous in handing out roles to minor league and off-the-radar comics. Like: Tom Papa, Allan Havey, Joel McHale, Tom Smothers, Patton Oswalt, Jimmy Brogan, Dick Smothers just to name a few (I am sure there were a few others in there that I missed). Some of the parts were much more than cameos. All and all a unique story that make for an entertaining film. [ RT ] [ MC ]
