speaking of movies–I watched “The Mist” last night. Frank Darabont’s writing and directing an adaption of another Stephen King novella. Worth a watch if only for it’s uncomproming bleak ending. This is the second sci-fi/horror flic I’ve watched in the past 7 day with a dark—”feel-bad” ending—”Cloverfield” the first.

Stephen King’s The Mist
Kermode thought “The Mist” got the job done…..I think he was leaning positive on “Cloverfield”. I thought it was preposterous but effective. Since when has acting counted in Horror films. The best is usually over-the-top even “The Exorcist”……okay maybe not “Rosemary’s Baby”
Just watched “Four Month…Three Weeks…Two Days….10 hours….45 minutes….32 seconds…….This movie was almost shot in real time. Painful, but flat-out powerful. I gotta put it right up there with “The Lives of Others.”….two of the best movies of the last couple of years come from overseas…They’re starting to make us look bad….
