Norm, I also own Tully’s stock. What a load of crap that Tom can’t seem to get along with anyone they hire for a CEO. He needs to step back and let someone with retail experience run it before he runs the company into the ground with his interference. He thinks the company is his toy.
Treats! was a Beatnik dessert shop/hamburger joint way back when. I learned how to bake pastries, and how to make espresso (and drink it) there. One day I was in a bad mood and the manager walked up to my caffeine free body and handed me a double latte and said, “You need this.” I got high and hooked immediately. Thereafter, I started writing checks for my lattes, which were only $1.37 at the time. (Yes, I was a precocious 5 year old with my own checking account - and a job!) Soon I was ordering double lattes, and then several double lattes and then, then, then, then I met you Norm and you saved my life! Ha!
Sorry about the Tully’s stock my forlorn, energy depleted friend.
And thank you for featuring “The New Pornographers” on one of your prior vidcasts. I did write a comment in response to that vidcast, but it hasn’t posted on your website, so I must have erred in trying to send it. Anyway, I don’t think the New Pornographers’ song “Myriad Harbor” is quirky in a pejorative sense, but it is different and I like that about it. I encourage both of you to listen to some of their other songs, which are more traditional, if you will, which may or may not be a pejorative description. By the way, they are a band made up of solo artists, which vary, and get together occasionally to make music. So, I find that intriguing. And Gary, you are right, Kathy Griffin did have work done some time ago. So there you have that. Gary did you ever get over your fear of going to the dentist? Have you gone to the dentist yet?
Norm, I enjoy watching you gush over baby Ruby Gregory and thanks for sharing her life story on rubygregory.net
Hey Norm and Gary. Thanks for featuring new music this week. I love Finger Eleven by the way. One of my favorite new bands and an excellent CD. This brings me to a question. Is there one particular hit record from your illustrious radio pasts that you just loathed but were forced to repeatedly play? I saw Ric Hansen and a store appearance a few years ago and I asked him that question. Without missing a beat, he immediately answered “Rendezvous” by the Hudson Brothers.
I was curious if you guys had a similar disdain for any one record.
Hi Norm and Gary. If only they had video back in the 60’s…Well okay maybe not…. I guess that’s why we went into radio isn’t it?? You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work.
By the way Norm, I talked with John Dresel, (you remember him from the Sonics in the 190 Queen Anne Ave. North days), former President and COO of Tully’s. We had a good laugh about the recent exodus at Tully’s. Brian is right, until Tom O gets the boot, Tully’s will continue walking management through the revolving door next to I-5.
What makes video handy today is that it takes advantage of the fact we were always better at talking than typing. So it’s easier to flip on the camera and start yakking than to toil over the keyboard typing out our thoughts. In fact just typing this is taking up too much energy . . . not to mention challenging my spelling prowess.

The old joke was . . . we had faces for radio.
